Accomplishments

Workforce Development

The American dream does not require a 4-year degree and a mountain of student loan debt. There are many different paths to take in the pursuit of happiness and Max is working to ensure every American can pursue the path that’s right for them. Max has made it his mission to expand workforce development and career and technical education opportunities that create prosperity for individuals & build a stronger future for America.

  • As promised, Max donated 25% of his congressional salary back to the Northeast Ohio community. He donated $43,500 to Medina County Career to fund scholarships for career and technical education students.

Education

Political agendas should not be a higher priority than educating Ohioans. We must reject critical race theory and sexual indoctrination at our schools. School choice will allow parents to remove their kids from schools that fail them or attempt to indoctrinate them. Kids should be learning about American civics and skills that will allow them to live a worthwhile life.

  • Co-sponsored the Parents Bill of Rights (H.R. 5) to ensure transparency for parents in their children’s education.

  • Co-sponsored the Protect Children’s Innocence Act (H.R. 1399) to prohibit gender-affirming care on minors.
Foreign Policy

Joe Biden’s foreign policy failures have allowed other nations to fill the power vacuum. The botched withdrawal in Afghanistan was the first domino to fall. Russian war in Ukraine, a nuclear Iran, North Korea firing missiles again, a deteriorating relationship with China, and the deadliest day for the Jewish people since the Holocaust have all followed. We need an America-first foreign policy that allows us to lead where we need to, protect our interests, and support our allies.

  • Co-sponsored the Fight CRIME Act (H.R. 3152) to impose sanctions on countries, individuals, and other entities that attempt to support Iranian missiles and related goods and technology, including materials and equipment.

  • Cosponsored the PASS Act (H.R. 683) to prohibit foreign adversaries like China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea from purchasing U.S. farmland and agricultural companies.
Service in Washington

Americans are tired of elected officials going to Washington to cash in. Many politicians use insider information and their positions to gain personal wealth and status. This undermines our system and the trust of the American public, which is why Max donated 25% of his congressional salary to his community.

  • As promised, Max donated 25% of his congressional salary back to the Northeast Ohio community. He donated $43,500 to Medina County Career to fund scholarships for career and technical education students.
  • Introduced the No Work, No Pay Act of 2023 (H.R. 5805) to prohibit Members of Congress from soliciting campaign donations and making campaign expenditures and to reduce their pay during a Government Shutdown.
Agriculture

One of the largest industries in Ohio is agriculture. Farmers feed us and drive the American economy. Farmers are also some of the biggest victims of the Biden-Inflation disaster. Rising energy costs and input costs across the board are crushing our farmers and Max will be a voice in Washington working to get Ohio’s farmers the support they need to weather this storm.

  • Convenes an Agricultural Advisory Council to learn about the priorities of Northeast Ohio’s agricultural community directly from industry experts.
  • Introduced the Farm to Fly Act of 2023 (H.R. 6271) to create new markets for American agricultural products and strengthen domestic energy resources.
  • Introduced the Farm to Fuselage Act (H.R. 5235) to update the Farm Bill to expand the role of U.S. agriculture in building our nation’s fuel supply.
Energy

Americans are already suffering from the impacts of inflation. The Biden administration has piled on by raising the costs of energy with policies that put China, the Middle East, and Russia first by cutting American energy production off at the knees. The time has come to re-commit to American energy independence and make us safer, provide cheaper energy, and put Americans back to work.

  • Helped pass the Lower Energy Costs Act (H.R. 1) to restore American energy independence by increasing domestic energy production, reversing anti-energy policies by the Biden Administration, and boosting the production and processing of critical minerals.
  • Co-sponsored the Promoting Domestic Energy Production Act (H.R. 5073) to allow American energy companies to deduct costs, including labor and safety, associated with oil and gas exploration.
  • Introduced the Farm to Fly Act of 2023 (H.R. 6271) to create new markets for American agricultural products and strengthen domestic energy resources.
Securing our southern border and fighting the scourge of fentanyl

The lawlessness at the southern border has led to illicit drugs on our streets, dangerous criminals getting rich, and human trafficking of innocent victims. Mass migration places strains on services across America. Criminals who should have never been able to enter our country do so freely. The radical position of open borders has made all of us less safe as dangerous drugs like fentanyl kill Americans right here in Ohio’s 7th Congressional District.

  • Helped pass the Secure the Border Act (H.R. 2) to take meaningful action to end the crisis at the US-Mexico border such as resuming construction on the border wall, providing for an additional 22,000 Border Patrol agents, and bolstering local law enforcement jurisdiction along the southern border.
  • Helped pass the HALT Fentanyl Act (H.R. 467) to permanently place fentanyl-related substances in the Schedule 1 category to designate it as having no medical use and a high potential for abuse.
  • Co-sponsored the STOP Fentanyl Act (H.R. 335) to create enhanced prison terms for importing or exporting fentanyl along the U.S.-Mexico border.
  • Co-sponsored the TRANQ Research Act (H.R. 1734) to direct the National Institute of Standards and Technology to research fentanyl additives such as TRANQ.
  • Co-sponsored the SOS Act of 2023 (H.R. 3666) to direct the Secretary of Homeland Security to designate illicit fentanyl as a weapon of mass destruction.
Economy

We need to do all we can to make America the best place on the planet to create a job. Job creators of all sizes are attacked for their success. The number one thing that will lift our neighbors out of poverty and put them on a path to a better life is a good-paying job. Get government out of the way and our job creators will make Ohio and America stronger.

  • Helped pass the Fiscal Responsibility Act (H.R. 3746) to cut reckless government spending, lift Americans out of poverty, and grow the economy.
  • Helped pass the REIN IN Inflation Act (H.R. 347) to reduce costs for Americans by preventing excessive government overreach that worsens inflation.
  • Co-sponsored the Food Supply Chain Capacity and Resiliency Act (H.R. 4873) to increase the capacity of the U.S. food supply chain and reduce food costs for Americans.
Law Enforcement

Max knows how important law enforcement is in keeping our families safe. While radical Democrats want to defund and degrade our law enforcement on the front lines, Max will fight for increased funding and support for law enforcement. With police morale at an all-time low, we run the risk of losing some of the most important members of our community at a time when we need them the most.

  • Co-sponsored the POWER Act (H.R. 3148) to establish a U.S. Department of Justice grant program to help state and local law enforcement organizations secure high-tech, portable drug screening devices.
  • Co-sponsored the Enhancing COPS Hiring Program Grants for Local Law Enforcement Act (H.R. 3376) to expand the COPS Hiring Program to allow local law enforcement agencies to utilize program grants for recruitment and retention bonuses.
  • Co-sponsored the School Resource Officer Compensation Act (H.R. 2478) to incentivize school districts to hire retired law enforcement officers to serve as School Resource Officers.
Inflation

The Biden Administration will offer every excuse possible for why the American people are being crushed by inflation. Overspending led us to this disaster and Democrats want to keep pushing us over the cliff by dumping in more cash and raising taxes on working families. Max believes our only way out of this mess is to curb spending, lower taxes and get Americans back to work.
